In 2023, Kampekete Secondary School in rural Lundazi was facing a growing problem: an outdated ICT lab that couldn’t keep up with the demands of Zambia’s revised Competence-Based Curriculum (CBC). The school’s ten-year-old computers were slow, most didn’t even turn on, and there was no internet access for learners to conduct research or complete assignments.
That’s when the school’s headteacher reached out to Hachimata Computer Solutions, and what happened next would transform the entire learning experience for hundreds of pupils.
The Problem
- Only 5 out of 20 computers were functional
- No internet connectivity in the lab
- No projector or teaching aids for Form 1–5 ICT classes
- Students struggled to complete practicals, and failure rates were rising
